What’s the difference between a registered shareholder and a street-name shareholder?
You are a registered shareholder if you are in possession of a stock certificate and receive a dividend check directly from Ledyard or if you own shares through Ledyard's DRS. If your broker holds your shares in an account for you and receives dividends on your behalf, your shares are in street name.

What is Direct Registration System (DRS)
Starting in May of 2014, Ledyard elected to issue registered stock using DRS. DRS is the ownership of stock registered in your name on the books of Ledyard, without taking possession of a printed stock certificate. DRS gives our registered shareholders several advantages:
- It eliminates the risk of loss or theft of your stock certificate and the potential cost and inconvenience of having to obtain a surety bond to replace a lost security.
- Eliminates the need for you to store your certificates and retrieve them should you wish to transfer or sell your shares.
- Our transfer agent, Broadridge Corporate Issuer Solutions, Inc., will periodically send you an account statement showing how many shares are owned in certificate and how many through DRS.
